We write to you as part of improving our customer communications to keep you better informed. We have been notified of an action at our data centre that we do not believe will have any impact on the services we provide for you, but of which we would like to make you aware.

Trakm8 data services operates from a third party Data Centre in Enfield. The data centre operates on two power feeds, A and B. We have been advised by the provider that there is a faulty power connection from the B Feed. The A Feed is unaffected. Trakm8 as part of our resilience planning is connected to both power feeds to ensure supply in such circumstances.

The provider has been working behind the scenes to mitigate as much impact as possible and they have already migrated a number of devices over to alternative power feeds in preparation for this planned work.

The third party provider has scheduled the repairs to take place on Thursday 19th November. The window of change is 24hrs but the impact is expected to last no more than 8hrs which this will commence from 08:00 on the 19th November 2020.

The faulty power feed and the scheduled repairs presents some current operational risk, although the provider does not consider it to be a high enough risk to warrant emergency repair and it is being managed as a scheduled Change Request. This will require the B Feed to be turned off during repair.

Impact

We understand that there will be no impact on Trakm8 services and if we are informed of anything specific we will be in contact immediately. Trakm8 has and will put in place the following mitigating actions;

. Trakm8 services have dual redundant connections to both the A & the B feed.
. Both A and B feeds to Trakm8 services have recently been serviced and are fully operational.
. Trakm8 will have engineers on site for the duration of the change request.
. Trakm8 Exec and your account manager will be on call for the duration of the change.

In the unlikely event there should be any impact on Trakm8 services then we will communicate with you at regular intervals, updating you on progress until the situation is resolved.
